Google Apps and Microsoft 365 share many things in common and both offer a friendly user feature, but the question lies on “Which is better?”
I have been using Google Apps for several months already for my everyday activities, and I find it very satisfying because of various features it presents. My friend – more or less has the same nature of activities that I do, uses Microsoft Office 365 and claiming that he has the edge. I asked him to explain further, why he thinks he has the edge by using Microsoft Office 365. As I do not agree that he has the edge by using such the Microsoft Office 365, we end up in comparing all the features offered by both service providers.
Google and Microsoft are both trustworthy service provider that has been operating for more than a decade and has been used by millions of people worldwide.
Google Apps and Microsoft Office 365 are capable of sending and receiving email, both with the same amount of storage set at 25 GB.
Google Apps and Microsoft Office 365 provide security to the data’s and files you stored in it. In cases where your PC – Desktop or Laptop, will be lost, stolen, damaged, you can still have access to all your data’s and files – using internet access.
Google Apps and Microsoft Office 365 both have calendar that allows you to overlook your schedules, reminds you of your task, meetings, and other activities. Basically, it’s an organizer.
Google Apps has Google Docs, Spreadsheets, and Presentations which is similar to Microsoft Office’s Word, Excel, and Powerpoint.
Google Apps and Microsoft Office both can be access anywhere – with internet access. Both have a Cloud Computing and Cloud Storage features.
Both Google Apps and Microsoft Office 365 can share file with other people with authority to access the file
With Google Apps and Microsoft Office 365 you can synchronize compatible mobile gadgets with your PC’s hard drive. Whenever you’re on the go, you can still have access to your data’s and files, emails, etc… using your mobile device.
Google Apps and Microsoft Office 365 offers web hosting, where you can create your own website, which you can publish online so that everyone will have access to it.
With this services offered by Google Apps and Microsoft Office 365, you will really enhance your working capabilities. Using these services will somehow change the way you do some of your activities, especially, activities pertaining to your work.
The function of both Google Apps and Microsoft Office 365 is generally the same, and it matters only in terms of how the application is done, moreover, some of the applications have similar procedures, such in the case of Google Docs and MS Word, Spreadsheets and Excel, Presentations and Powerpoints. So there’s no need for an argument, I’ll use Google Apps, and you use Microsoft Office 365, and I’ll bet, we’ll have similar if not the same result.
For me, it’s just a matter of preference, e.g. choosing Coca-Cola over Pepsi cola and vice versa. Whichever is more convenient to you, it’s the best tool for you.
