Be specific with your goal
The same concept is applied if you want to achieve a specific goal may it be in business, or other field of interest; for a while, you think. You must put your thoughts in order and be as specific as possible – what you want and how you do it, etc… Consider all the things that need to be done, because if your mind is floating elsewhere, it’s useless, you might end up thinking that what you’re doing isn’t worth at all.
You must identify your audience
In order to have significant content, you must, first, identify for whom you are doing the work – target audience. From there, you’ll probably have a clear direction or idea on what you would work on. It is important that you categorized your site and all the contents you’ll put in it should be related to the category, so as to set your audience to a common direction. For example, your site will be all about religion, all the contents of the site should be related to religion, etc…. otherwise, It’s like you’re dwelling at two different views at the same time.
Keep updates
It’s the best way to keep first time from coming back. If you have to provide the contents, work on it or you can outsource the contents. This is one way of getting traffic to your site. You must provide fresh content on a regular basis; otherwise, your site will be no good as static web pages and your audience will not find meaning in it. What’s the point in hanging out on a site which doesn’t offer something new? It’s just a waste of time.
Be Inviting
An essential aspect of a good site is that it allows audience to speak their mind through a two-way conversation. You can post questions, and suggest readers to leave comment or whatsoever thoughts they may be having. Perhaps you can offer free downloadable material – eBooks, videos, music, etc… As long as you offer your audience something that is significant to the topics, it’ll do.
Be Everywhere
One way of attracting visitors to your site is to take part on social media networking – Facebook, Twitter, Linked, etc… From there, you can create links directed to your site and recommend the links to your contacts that you think are like-minded as you. You can also create a group of like-minded individuals to participate in the discussion forums of the site. That way, you can provide them a common place to hang out and share what’s on their minds, In that way you’ll have regular visitors coming in your site.
Create space for learning
Keep tract with the latest tools to improve your site’s performance, and learn how to use it effectively – design, usability, etc…, that provides your audience a great experience.
Be yourself and don’t pretend
If you have to criticize contents, do it in a respectful manner, and do not focus you criticisms to the one who post the content, rather, focus on the content that is being criticized. Don’t just shut your mouth off if you have something to say. Be realistic as possible. In the end you’ll gain all the respect for being honest, truthful, and trustworthy.
